Site Manager – 132kv High Voltage Substation– Renewable Energy – Southwest of England – 4 Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the construction of a 132kV high voltage substation connected to a 50MW Solar Farm. Employed by the Principal Contractor, you will play a critical role in managing site activities during the final stages of the project, focusing on the electrical installation and commissioning of high voltage equipment.
This is a full-time, site-based role that requires a professional with strong electrical knowledge and experience in similar projects. While formal qualifications are not required, a proven track record of managing high voltage electrical installations is essential.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Act as the on-site representative of the Principal Contractor, ensuring all activities are executed safely, efficiently and in compliance with project specifications.
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of subcontractors and internal staff involved in electrical installation and commissioning.
- Monitor progress against project timelines, identifying and addressing any risks to the schedule or quality standards.
- Supervise the installation and commissioning of key high voltage equipment, including but not limited to transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and cable pulling.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and environmental standards on-site.
- Maintain clear communication with the project team, subcontractors and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress and challenges.
- Ensure all required documentation related to site activities, testing and commissioning is completed accurately and on time.
Skills And Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years in Site Management, with a proven tracker record of managing complex projects.
- Fluency in English for all written and verbal communications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, being able to convey technical information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
- Clear understanding and knowledge of HSE.
- Experience in managing high voltage substation construction, specifically electrical installations and commissioning activities.
- Effective progress tracking and reporting abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Start Date: Beginning of Jan 25, this can be brought forward for the right candidate
- Employment Term: Minimum 4-5 month contact
- Working Arrangement: 100% site based
