As senior engineer, you will be working across the APAC region looking after multiple projects/clients. You will spend up to 70% in the field travelling to different projects to assist with client’s needs.
Clients’ needs will be very diverse, so you need to be versatile and be able to proactive, be able to think on your feet and have a dynamic attitude. You could be working at a substation or at a small remote site. Your ability to problem solve and be solution focused will be key and having confidence in your ability to tackle problems will be a must. Also, you will be hands on the tools, so you need to not be afraid to get your hands dirty. Travel is going to be diverse and frequent so someone with a sense of adventure and not fazed easily will be preferable. (travel is usually done in pairs however your role once at a clients will usually be independent). This is not a role for someone looking for a typical 9-5 job. This will require a flexible working attitude, unsociable hours will sometimes have to be worked, you will be having meetings across different time zones so need to be flexible to accommodate this. You should be self-motivated, trustworthy and take pride in your work.
Being organised and have a good plan/methodology is going to be important especially when you are going to be out in the field. You need to be well-prepared, know what your agenda is, what the desired outcome in and what you are going to need/do to achieve this outcome.
You will be experienced in the distribution space, ideally you will come from automation background (protection and control is preferable) and familiar with protection systems switchgear.
As part of this role, you will also spend time working from your home office as CAS Consultant. You will perform analytical studies, utilising PSS Sincal, DigSilent PowerFactory, PSS/E and other power system analysis software.
Essential is a strong, internet connection. Ideally you will be based in Manila or close to Manila as the team occasionally meets there.
