The team works at the cutting edge of energy law, supporting clients through the complex regulatory landscape of Japan&rsquo;s energy transition.

The Role:
As a Legal professional you will support clients on various renewable energy projects. You will handle a wide range of corporate and commercial legal matters, including advising on regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions (M&amp;A), drafting and negotiating contracts, and managing complex transactions.
&nbsp;
Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Draft and negotiate corporate agreements, turbine supply agreements, EPC contracts, joint ventures, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and financing documents.</li>
<li>Lead and support M&amp;A transactions, including conducting due diligence, structuring deals, and negotiating transaction documents related to renewable energy assets.</li>
<li>Advise on and negotiate project finance agreements, including liaising with financial institutions to secure funding for renewable energy developments.</li>
<li>Implement compliance frameworks and ensure legal risks are managed effectively.</li>
<li>Support corporate governance activities, including board meetings and company secretarial matters.</li>
</ul>

The Person:
<ul>
<li>Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years of legal experience, preferably in corporate law, energy law, M&amp;A, or project finance.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of Japan's renewable energy regulatory framework.</li>
<li>Fluent in English and Japanese, with excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills.</li>
<li>Proven experience in managing complex transactions, including turbine supply agreements, EPC contracts, project finance, and M&amp;A in the energy sector.</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a business-oriented approach to legal issues.</li>
