A global leader in energy and technology development, this business sets the pace for the rest to follow in renewable energy smart technology development. They have won significant partnership agreements with a range of blue-chip customers looking to achieve net-zero targets and goals. Further expansion and global demand for their market-leading renewable energy solutions have seen unprecedented global growth and the requirement to recruit a high-profile Sales Director in the UK to deliver a $1bn battery storage order intake by 2025.
The Role
The primary focus of the role will be to take overall responsibility for the battery energy storage system (BESS) business development and revenue growth in the United Kingdom and European Union markets. Wider responsibilities include:
· Able to independently develop new customers, grow BESS sales pipeline and manage key account customer relationships.
· Develop BESS service business strategy and grow BESS service business pipeline.
· Partner with and lead internal function teams to close deals. Facilitate commercial negotiation with customers.
· Stay on top of the latest BESS market and power market development in the region, as well as competitive landscape change.
· Drive internal product management team on a development project and future product roadmap creation, through the input of the customer and market needs.
· Independently drive and manage end-to-end sale pipeline conversion, from sales leads development to cash collection, and support project delivery process.
· Develop mid to long-term growth strategy for BESS and BESS Service business in UK and EU.
· Set up and lead an international sales team focusing on strategic BESS markets.
The Person
The successful candidate will likely have:
· 10+ years of Business Development and Sales experience, with minimal 5 years of relevant work experience in the energy storage industry.
· Rich network and customer resources in the United Kingdom and EU.
· In-depth understanding of energy storage fundamentals and power markets in the UK and EU.
· Commercially astute and have a good understanding of contract terms and negotiation skills.
· Capable of setting up and leading a global sales team.
· A team player.
· Experience in working in multicultural teams.
· Desire to work collaboratively in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
· Demonstrated experience in solution selling with a track record of driving larger and complex deals to close.
· Comfortable with working independently and remotely from HQ teams.
· Flexible to travel.
