Contract - Offshore Substations - Travel to EU HQ when needed
Hunter Philips are currently searching for a Senior Procurement Manager with a specialism with offshore substations for a 12 month contract based primarily remotely but with monthly travel to their European HQ.
Our client is a prominent player in the renewable energy sector. A leader in offshore wind energy, this company develops large-scale wind farms that generate clean, renewable power. With a portfolio of multi-GW projects across Europe and a robust pipeline of future installations, they are driving the growth of offshore wind.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Awarding Stage of Procurement:
- Drive the final stages of contract negotiations, ensuring value for money and alignment with project objectives.
- Ensure the timely award of contracts to support the overall project delivery schedule.
Contract Management:
- Oversee the preparation, review, and finalization of contracts with key suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, legal, and technical standards, particularly within the renewable energy sector.
- Mitigate risks by identifying potential contractual issues and providing expert solutions.
Supplier Engagement & Management:
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring clear communication of project requirements, scope, and timelines.
- Work closely with suppliers and the project team to manage any disputes, ensuring swift and amicable resolutions.
- Perform supplier performance assessments and lead negotiations to secure favourable terms for the project.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Project Management teams to align procurement strategies with overall project goals.
- Collaborate with the wider procurement team to implement best practices and innovative procurement techniques for offshore wind projects.

Experience you must possess to be successful in your application:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in large-scale energy, or offshore wind projects.
- Proven expertise in contract negotiation and management, particularly during the awarding phase.
- Solid understanding of procurement best practices, risk management, and supplier relationship management.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in high-stakes environments.
- Strong knowledge of offshore wind project lifecycle, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements.
