Land Acquisition/Project Developer – UK £Excellent + Package
The Company:
A leading UK land-based renewable energy developer with a growing portfolio of onshore wind, solar and energy storage projects across the country is looking to expand their land acquisition team. They have decades of experience in bringing forward developments which meet the needs of society and create shared value for communities, the environment, their business partners and colleagues. It became operational in 2009, and since then they have opened 10 more wind farms, with more in development. In 2024, they will start work developing their first solar farm.
The Role:
- Take responsibility for origination of new opportunities and securing land, including leading pre-feasibility assessments.
- Developing land acquisition strategies for both small and large sites.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with agents, landowners, promoters, vendors, and partners to find and develop opportunities.
- Managing the appraisal process with development, commercial, planning, and technical teams to guide projects through planning stages.
- Coordinating with project teams and stakeholders to develop appraisals, secure approvals, and monitor budgets.
- Assessing land market value with clear methodologies.
- Progression to Principal Developer/Head of Development in 2-3 years
The Person:
A successful candidate will likely have:
- Can-do attitude
- English speaking
- Able to build effective and positive relationships and influence positive outcomes
- Highly effective communication skills
- Environmentally conscientious
- Educated to degree level or higher (Engineering, Finance, Legal)
- Strong knowledge of land acquisition and permitting
