Contract Length: 12 months onshore + potential offshore work for 6–18 months depending on project progress.
About the Role:
Join a leading HVDC offshore substation project as a HVDC Site Engineer. This role involves working on the fabrication and testing of major high-voltage electrical equipment. You'll oversee systems critical to the substation, ensuring compliance, quality, and performance standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the fabrication and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) of major electrical equipment including:
- GIS (362kV system), transformers, reactors, and converters
- Auxiliary systems and SCADA control systems (prior SCADA experience beneficial but not required)
- Support the delivery of high-voltage systems (66kV and 362kV)
- Ensure compliance during the installation and commissioning phases
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project milestones
- Perform physical on-site inspections—requiring physical fitness to navigate stairs and extensive walking.
Requirements:
- Prior HVDC substation experience (offshore experience strongly preferred)
- High-voltage (HV) expertise at levels comparable to 362kV
- Ability to work with auxiliary systems, GIS, and major electrical equipment
- Physically fit to meet the demands of on-site work
- Must be an EU citizen (candidates from the UK cannot be considered)
- A proactive, hard-working, and diligent team player
