Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of contracts, including PPAs, EPC contracts, and O&M agreements.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory frameworks governing renewable energy projects.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with energy projects, focusing on compliance, regulatory challenges, and contractual liabilities.
- Manage legal disputes or litigation involving the company’s energy projects or partnerships, employing arbitration and mediation when necessary.
- Provide legal support for M&A activities, conducting due diligence and facilitating asset integration.
- Collaborate with regulators, government agencies, investors, and partners to address legal and regulatory concerns.
- Oversee dispute resolution processes for projects and contracts.
- Work closely with internal teams (finance, project development, engineering, etc.) to provide legal guidance aligned with company objectives.
The Person:
- Juris Doctor and licensed to practice law in relevant jurisdictions.
- 8-10 years of legal experience, preferably within a publicly listed company or advising boards of directors.
- Expertise in renewable energy, offshore projects, power grid infrastructure, and public-private partnerships.
- Proven experience in project finance, IPO's M&A, and complex contract negotiations within the energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Ability to advise boards on legal, governance, and risk management matters.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with the capability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
- Extensive legal US market knowledge.
