Head of Legal – Oil & Gas, Power Grid Infrastructure & Energy Projects – Southeast Asia & APAC

Are you an experienced legal professional with a strong background in oil and gas, power infrastructure, and energy projects, looking to lead in a dynamic, fast-paced organisation?
The Company:

Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, including LNG SPAs, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and structured fuel procurement arrangements.
- Navigate regulatory frameworks and ensure compliance with local and international laws governing oil and gas and infrastructure projects.
- Manage legal risks related to large-scale energy projects, including offshore and power grid developments.
- Oversee dispute resolution and litigation strategies, focusing on arbitration and mediation where required.
- Support M&A activities, including due diligence and integration of energy assets.
- Collaborate with government agencies, regulators, and industry stakeholders on legal and regulatory challenges.
- Work closely with project development and finance teams to align legal guidance with business objectives.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Juris Doctor (or equivalent) and qualified to practice law in relevant jurisdictions.
- 8–10 years of legal experience in oil and gas, offshore projects, or energy infrastructure, ideally within a publicly listed company or a top-tier law firm.
- Expertise in LNG contracts, project finance, public-private partnerships, and complex negotiations.
- Proven experience in regulatory compliance and risk mitigation for oil and gas or power grid projects.
- Ability to advise executive leadership and boards on governance, risk management, and strategic legal matters.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with US market dynamics and international energy frameworks is a strong advantage.
- Proven experience in project finance, IPO's M&A, and complex contract negotiations within the energy or infrastructure sectors.
