The Role:
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will be a key legal advisor, supporting project development teams on large-scale renewable energy projects, primarily solar and battery storage, with occasional involvement in wind projects. Your role will involve managing legal issues, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on land use, planning, and regulatory issues for renewable energy projects.
- Draft and negotiate land use agreements, co-development agreements, service contracts, and project financing documents.
- Implement compliance frameworks and ensure legal risks are managed effectively.
- Support corporate governance activities, including board meetings and company secretarial matters.
- Coordinate with external legal advisors for project due diligence and complex legal matters.
The Person:
- Qualified under German law with at least 5 years of experience in a legal role, preferably within the renewable energy or infrastructure sector.
- Fluent in English and German with excellent legal drafting skills.
- Practical experience in land acquisition, regulatory law, and commercial contracts for renewable energy projects.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to assess and communicate legal risks in a commercial context.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently within a fast-paced environment.
