Consenting Specialist - 1 year rolling contract - Offshore Wind - Ireland - Remote

This role involves a variety of tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Supporting the Consenting Lead in delivering key milestones for offshore wind projects by coordinating and contributing to the development and assessment of project-specific consenting tasks.
• Preparing and/or reviewing technical scopes of work related to consenting activities and providing support to other disciplines as required.
• Identifying key project risks associated with consenting processes, communicating these effectively to the Consenting Lead and project teams, and contributing to the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver and optimise the project consenting strategy in line with programme goals.
• Overseeing environmental and technical consultants and reviewing technical reports to ensure compliance and quality.
• Applying in-depth knowledge and experience of consenting processes relevant to offshore wind projects in the UK, including the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process, Habitats Regulations, marine licensing/planning, and other statutory processes.
• Demonstrating strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) legislation and practices in the UK.
• Managing both internal and external stakeholders with a proven ability to lead successful public consultations and foster productive relationships.
• Staying informed on industry advancements and best practices in consenting and environmental impact processes.

Essential Requirements:

• A minimum of seven years' professional experience in environmental consenting and Environmental Impact Assessments, ideally within the offshore wind sector.
• A formal qualification such as a degree in Engineering or Environmental Science (or equivalent qualification).
• Comprehensive knowledge of offshore windfarm consenting processes, milestones, and relevant regulations.
• A proactive, solution-focused attitude with demonstrated experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Flexibility to travel when needed, with a valid driving licence and passport.

Desirable Qualifications:

• A Masters-level degree (Level 9 or equivalent) in Engineering or a related field.
• Chartered status with a recognised professional institution.
• A formal Project Management qualification to enhance collaboration and project delivery capabilities.
