Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Global HVDC Valve Leader to join a world-class organization at the forefront of the HVDC industry. Based in the United Kingdom, this senior leadership role will be responsible for overseeing and driving the global strategy and operational excellence of the HVDC Valve product line. As the leader of this business segment, you will manage cross-functional teams across geographies, ensuring the successful delivery of projects, alignment with business objectives, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
This is a leadership position focused on business strategy, project delivery, and team management, rather than on technical execution. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience, a track record of success in global product management or project management in the energy sector, and a deep understanding of the HVDC market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Leadership & Strategy:
Lead and define the strategic direction for the HVDC Valve business across multiple regions.
Develop and execute long-term goals to position the company as a leader in the global HVDC valve market.
Work closely with senior leadership to align the HVDC valve business with corporate objectives and broader energy transition goals.
Team Leadership & Development:
Manage a high-performing global team, providing mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities to drive performance and employee engagement.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence across the global HVDC valve team.
Ensure alignment of cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, procurement, and customer support to ensure successful product and project delivery.
Customer Engagement & Market Positioning:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and partners, acting as a senior leader and ambassador for the HVDC valve business.
Oversee the development of customer solutions that align with their needs, leveraging the company's products, services, and expertise.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer demands to inform strategic decision-making and product offerings.
Project Oversight & Operational Excellence:
Ensure the successful execution of global HVDC valve projects, meeting project deadlines, budgets, and performance targets.
Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure the efficient delivery of large-scale HVDC projects, mitigating risks and addressing challenges proactively.
Drive operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the global HVDC valve production and delivery process.
Innovation & Technology Leadership:
Stay informed of emerging trends in HVDC technology and energy sector advancements, helping shape the company’s future product roadmap and innovation strategy.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging new ideas and innovative solutions that enhance the performance of the HVDC valve product line.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in global leadership roles, with at least 10+ years in the energy or power systems industry, exposure to HVDC technology or related fields would be advantageous.
Strong track record of managing high-performing global teams and driving operational success across multiple regions.
Exceptional business acumen with experience in strategic planning, business development, and P&L responsibility.
Strong stakeholder management skills with experience in engaging senior executives, customers, and cross-functional teams.
Experience with managing complex, large-scale projects and global product lines.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive alignment at all organizational levels.
Desirable Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
A deep understanding of the global HVDC market, including key industry trends, competitors, and regulatory environments.
Previous experience in product management or global business development within an OEM environment, ideally within the HVDC or renewable energy sector.
Familiarity with supply chain management and procurement in the context of large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
