The Role: As a Legal professional you will support clients on various renewable energy projects. You will handle a wide range of corporate and commercial legal matters, including advising on regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), drafting and negotiating contracts, and managing complex transactions. Key Responsibilities: Draft and negotiate corporate agreements, turbine supply agreements, EPC contracts, joint ventures, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and financing documents. Lead and support M&A transactions, including conducting due diligence, structuring deals, and negotiating transaction documents related to renewable energy assets. Advise on and negotiate project finance agreements, including liaising with financial institutions to secure funding for renewable energy developments. Implement compliance frameworks and ensure legal risks are managed effectively. Support corporate governance activities, including board meetings and company secretarial matters. The Person: Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years of legal experience, preferably in corporate law, energy law, M&A, or project finance. Strong understanding of Japan's renewable energy regulatory framework. Fluent in English and Japanese, with excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills. Proven experience in managing complex transactions, including turbine supply agreements, EPC contracts, project finance, and M&A in the energy sector.
