Senior Array Cable Project Engineer – Contract Role

Join a leading international energy provider in the renewables sector, driving cutting-edge offshore wind projects across Europe. My Client is seeking an experienced Senior Array Cable Project Engineer to oversee the engineering, supply, and testing of array cables for high-profile offshore projects. This role demands expertise in high voltage (HV) array cables, from technical design through to certification and quality assurance, ensuring our client’s stringent standards are met at every stage.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the engineering of supply, jointing, termination, and testing of array cables and connection equipment, aligning with high-voltage cable (HVC) standards.
Act as a primary technical interface, providing guidance to internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Evaluate suppliers' technical proposals and ensure alignment with technical requirements.
Oversee the detailed design process, managing certifications and quality assurance.
Conduct reviews of cable route design and routing plans on OSS and FOU platforms.
Provide input on risk assessments, variation orders, technical audits, and quality audits.
Define and coordinate project-specific inspection and testing activities (PQT, EQT, TT, FAI, FAT, SAT, etc.), including quality-related documentation.
Prepare O&M Level 2 Manual and tools register for seamless project handover.
Handle non-conformance reports and lessons learned within the designated system.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years in HV array cable engineering, including hands-on work with cable manufacturing, quality assurance, and termination/testing.
Strong electrical and thermal knowledge of HV cable systems with the ability to interpret industry standards.
A proven track record in project engineering, excellent communication, adaptability, teamwork, and decision-making skills.
Familiarity with offshore wind project protocols and related IT tools is an advantage.
Additional Information:
This is a contract position where you will need to use your own equipment (PC and/or iPhone) and install necessary security software. Cybersecurity is critical so expect adherence to IT security protocols to protect both company and personal data.
